Por estes lados o único sítio que posso recomendar é a Taberna Típica Quarta-feira. Como o nome diz é tipicamente alentejana. Onde se pode deliciar as melhores iguarias do Alto-Alentejo e onde o cachaço de porco preto alentejano assume um lugar de destaque (sem reserva prévia é o único prato disponível) e situa-se bem no centro histórico da cidade. Distintivamente caseiro, com um ambiente a condizer, um atendimento familiar, onde é impossível sair sem degustar a mariquice – isto é a sobremesa – bolo, encharcada alentejana, cerejas vermelhas e amarelas e tudo regado com um típico vinho da região. Seria de esperar que tanta tradição viesse de um alentejano de gema, mas não é o caso. É da Beira-Interior, mudou-se para Évora ainda novo e sente-se alentejano como nenhum outro.

The only place that I tried is the only one I can recommend and I cannot recommend it enough. It's called 'Taberna Típica Quarta-Feira'. As the name suggests it's a typical Alentejo’s restaurant. When one can eat the best delicacies of the Alto Alentejo and where the black pork neck has a preeminent place (without prior reservation is the only dish available) and located in the historical centre of the city. Distinctively homey with an atmosphere to match, it's a family restaurant, where it's impossible to leave without tasting the 'mariquice' - this means dessert - cake, Alentejo's 'encharcada', red and yellow cherries and a typical local wine. One would expect so many traditions would come from an Alentejo native, but it's not the case. He is from 'Beira Interior' and then move to Évora still really young and he's so proud of it.
